Gold Coast
virtual assistants

The Gold Coast runs on owner-operated businesses that outgrew the owner's admin capacity. A dedicated team member is usually the first non-billable hire that pays for itself. From $14/hr + GST.

A city of businesses too small for a full-time local admin

The Gold Coast has an unusually high density of small owner-operated businesses — trades, allied health practices, NDIS providers, hospitality venues, agencies. Most reach the same point: too much administration for the owner, not enough to justify a $75,000 local hire plus a desk.

So the admin gets done at night. Quotes go out late, invoices go out later, and the owner is working six days to run a business that should support five.

This is precisely the gap a dedicated offshore team member fills, and it is why part-time engagements are common here. Twenty hours a week is a real option, and so is ten to start.

The clock

Same clock as Brisbane, and it never shifts

Queensland does not observe daylight saving, so the overlap is fixed year-round — which matters when your day starts on site at 6am.

Manila is two hours behind, always

7am in Manila is 9am on the Coast. No seasonal drift, no renegotiating the start time in October.

Early starts are workable

A 6am Manila start puts someone at their desk from 8am your time — useful for trades and hospitality where the day is already underway.

Your evening is covered

Manila finishing at 5pm covers you to 7pm, which is when quotes get finished and tomorrow gets confirmed.

Part-time still overlaps properly

A twenty-hour week can be scheduled entirely inside your business hours rather than scattered across them.

Questions

Frequently asked

We're small — is 40 hours a week too much?
Forty is our standard engagement and twenty is common. Below that we look at fifteen, ten or even five hours to get a role started, priced accordingly — a smaller engagement costs a little more per hour because the recruiting and management effort is the same. Plenty of Coast businesses start at ten and grow it.
Can they answer the phone during the day?
Yes. Manila covers roughly 8am to 7pm Queensland time depending on the start you set, which is most of a trade or clinic day. Very early calls stay with you.
Do you work with Gold Coast businesses specifically?
We are Queensland-based, so a good share of our client book is between Brisbane and the Coast. Your account manager is local; your team member is in Manila.
How much does it cost?
From $14/hr + GST full-time — roughly $29K a year against $95K–$115K all-in for the local equivalent once you add super, leave, payroll tax, software and a desk. No placement fee, no setup fee: you pay from the day they start. Interviewing candidates costs nothing. Run your numbers →
How fast can we start?
Typically 14 days from your discovery call to day one. In the first week we source and screen against your brief; you get three matched profiles and interview whoever you like. Once you choose, we handle the offer, the contract, equipment and connectivity checks. Specialist roles can take a week longer, because we won't pad a shortlist to hit a date.
Is there a minimum term?
Three months, then month to month — the same runway you'd give a new local hire to learn your systems and standards. There are no exit penalties at any point, and if the issue is the person rather than the role, the first-week refund and free replacement cover that separately.
