The most expensive city to hire an administrator in

Sydney salaries are the highest in Australia, and the gap is widest in exactly the roles that generate no revenue — the client services officer, the loan processor, the legal secretary, the practice administrator. A competent one is a six-figure all-in cost, and they are hard to keep.

It is also the densest concentration of licensed and regulated firms in the country: financial planning, insurance broking, mortgage broking, law, accounting. Those businesses have the clearest possible split between the regulated act and the preparation that leads to it.

That split is where offshore support works best. The lodgement, the advice and the signature stay with your licensed people. The document assembly, chasing and production — usually the bulk of the hours — does not have to.

The clock

Two hours in winter, three in summer

NSW observes daylight saving from early October to early April, so the overlap moves twice a year. Worth agreeing up front how you handle it.

April to October: Manila is two hours behind

9am Sydney is 7am Manila. A 7am Manila start has someone at their desk as you arrive.

October to April: three hours behind

Sydney moves to AEDT and Manila does not follow, so the gap widens. A team member starting at 7am Manila is now beginning at 10am your time.

Decide the DST rule in week one

Either they shift their start by an hour in October, or you accept a later start for six months. Both work; the failure is not deciding and letting it drift.

Late coverage in summer

The wider summer gap is an advantage if you want the evening covered — Manila to 6pm reaches 9pm Sydney.

Questions

Frequently asked

We're licensed — what can actually be delegated?
More than most firms assume, and less than an unscrupulous provider will claim. Preparation, administration, chasing and production travel. The regulated act — advice, lodgement, assessment, signature — stays with your licensed people. Our boundary map sets it out profession by profession with the regulators named.
Will our licensee allow it?
Check first, because licensee and aggregator agreements vary on outsourcing, data location and system access, and some require notification. Firms that ask almost always get approved. We would much rather build the arrangement around your rules than discover them in month four.
How do we handle the daylight saving shift?
Agree it before day one. Most Sydney clients have their team member move their start time by an hour in October so the overlap stays constant. It only becomes a problem when nobody decides and the working rhythm quietly slips.
How much does it cost?
From $14/hr + GST full-time — roughly $29K a year against $95K–$115K all-in for the local equivalent once you add super, leave, payroll tax, software and a desk. No placement fee, no setup fee: you pay from the day they start. Interviewing candidates costs nothing. Run your numbers →
How fast can we start?
Typically 14 days from your discovery call to day one. In the first week we source and screen against your brief; you get three matched profiles and interview whoever you like. Once you choose, we handle the offer, the contract, equipment and connectivity checks. Specialist roles can take a week longer, because we won't pad a shortlist to hit a date.
Is there a minimum term?
Three months, then month to month — the same runway you'd give a new local hire to learn your systems and standards. There are no exit penalties at any point, and if the issue is the person rather than the role, the first-week refund and free replacement cover that separately.
